Welcome
As part of its commitment to dealing with climate change, the
Australian
Government’s Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage
and the Arts has created the Green Loans Program.
Over time, Green
Loans will assist Australian householders to address energy,
water and waste management in a number of ways. It will support
householders to have a home sustainability assessment and report,
carried out by a registered assessor, and provide access to
a Green Loans subsidy from select financial institutions to
“cover up to four years interest for borrowing of up to
$10,000, to implement changes recommended in the assessment
report”.
The Sustainable Communities Research Group in the School of
Geography and Environmental Studies at the University of Tasmania
has been asked to provide continuing professional development
to home sustainability assessors involved in that program. If
you want to learn more about why CPD is important, click here.
