I have a diverse academic background and originally
completed a B.A. in philosophy and political science before
converting my existing expertise in Tasmanian native land snails
into a PhD entitled “Biogeography of Tasmanian Native Land
Snails” (2003). I
am continuing research into all aspects of the Tasmanian land
snail fauna as an open-ended project, while also working as a
consultant in invertebrate ecology and threatened species
management for a range of employers in the public and private
sectors. I am available to provide land snail identifications
for Department students and staff for no charge.
Current research interests:
Tasmanian
native land snails (biogeography, taxonomy, management, ecology)
Invertebrate threatened species management
Extinction risk and rate assessment
Use of forestry plantations by native and
exotic fauna
Electoral systems and psephology
ecent community involvements:

Times (http://tasmaniantimes.com/index.php/weblog/C64/)
Feb 24, 2006 – radio interview, Edge
Radio (Simon Brown), preview of upcoming state election.
