and Clean Seas Program'. Coasts and Clean Seas is the coastal and
marine component of the Natural
Heritage Trust. Through Coasts and Clean Seas the Federal Government
provides funds to tackle Australia's coastal and marine environmental
problems, now and into the future.

Department of Primary Industries, Water and Environment (DPIWE),
drives sustainable development in Tasmania (Australia) through a
central role in industry development, natural resource management,
environmental protection and the conservation of our natural and
cultural heritage.
DPIWE is the government agency responsible for undertaking the Giant
Kelp Project and 'KelpWatch'.

Tasmanian Fisheries and Aquaculture Institute (TAFI)
is a centre of excellence in applied marine research, and supports
the development and sustainable management of Tasmania's living
marine resources. TAFI, in partnership with DPIWE, is undertaking
the Giant Kelp Project. |

Australian Hydrographic Service (AHS)
is part of the Royal Australian Navy and provides Australia's national
charting service, including publishing and maintaining the national
chart series (nearly 400 navigational charts). The AHS has supplied
'KelpWatch' with historical British Admiralty charts and recent
Hydrographic Service (RAN) charts.

National Information and Mapping Agency (NIMA) of the US Department
of Defence provides accurate imagery, imagery intelligence, and
geospatial information in support of national security objectives.
NIMA has supplied 'KelpWatch' with historical charts published by
the US Hydrographic Office. |
