2012 Committee

The CODES SEG Student Chapter at the University of Tasmania is a student branch of the Society of Economic Geologists, dedicated to pursing and disseminating geological knowledge amongst its members. In recent years the committee has organised seminars featuring internationally recognised specialists and taken its members to Indonesia (2009), Thailand (2010) and China (2011) to visit key geological provinces. In addition to the seminars and trips, the SEG Student Chapter also organises numerous social and fundraising events in order to continue its efforts to advance geological understanding through the scientific investigation of mineral deposits and resources.
In 2012, the committee intends to organise a trip to Southern Africa to visit some of the world’s best known gold, platinum and copper regions.

If you, or your company, would like to sponsor the 2012 trip to South Africa and Botswana, or you think you might be able to help out in some other way, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We want to hear from you. We really, really do.
